The two pulled into Hamilton's after a couple minutes of driving through Glenview. Nate got out of the car and opened Adrie's door for her, at which she smiled and slid her arm in between his. "Hi there, welcome to Hamilton's, how many?" A hostess asked as the two shrugged off their coats and scarves. "Two, thanks," replied Nate. "Actually, it's going to be three," Adrie quickly interjected. Nate looked at Adrie with confusion, "Three?" "Yes three. Paul didn't have to work today and he's going to join us." "Paul," Nate asked, trying to sound shocked, "You two are still seeing each other?" Adrie gave Nate a stern look, "Yes we are still seeing each other. We got back together about two months ago, I can't believe I haven't mentioned it in an email or anything, it must have slipped my mind." Adrie knew that it had not slipped her mind. Really, she didn't want to tell Nate. She felt as though she had put him through enough with her and Paul being so on and off. Adrie truly loved Paul, and it was hard for her to get over that, thus, they were back together.
The hostess seated the two in a booth near the window. Adrie coolly slid into one side, while Nate, not as gracefully slid into the other. Nate was staring aimlessly out the window. The truth was, he could barely look at Adrie; he was pissed. After not seeing each other for seven months, she decided to invite Paul on their reunion lunch, and that hurt him. "Nate, look at me," Adrie said firmly, sensing the tension that, ever so quickly, built between them. "You're not seriously mad at me, are you? Come on. We barely get to see each other, and now that we're here you're going to spend all the time we get sulking," she asked, as she reached her arm across the table to grab Nate's hand. As mad as he was, she was right, and he knew it. He let her take his hand and looked at her. Adrie scrunched up her tiny nose and stuck her tongue out at him. Nate couldn't help but to break into a smile.
"Hey, Beautiful!" Both Adrie and Nate looked up and saw Paul strutting toward them in his tight pants, that seemed to hug every crevice of his body. He was wearing a dirty 'Rolling Stones' T-shirt that had a hole burnt into it. Nate quickly let go of Adrie's hand and she got up to embrace Paul. Paul grabbed her and gave her a very long, very inappropriate kiss. His hand seemed to linger from the small of her back down to her ass, which he squeezed in a very obvious manner. Adrie pulled away quickly and sat back down, her face turned hot red, and she reintroduced the two. "Paul, you remember Nate, don't you? Nate's home for Thanksgiving." Nate nodded at Paul, and Paul replied, "Oh yeah, how's it going? You're out there, doin' what again? No, wait, let me guess, you're up at some University or some shit like that, right?" "Um, yeah," Nate replied, uncomfortably. Adrie added quickly to the conversation, "Actually, Nate is in Grad school at Michigan State." "State was always Paul's favorite team," she noted, in an attempt to even out the conversation. "Yeah man, screw those wolverines," Paul said, quite loudly. Nate cleared his throat, "I actually went to U of M for undergrad..." The whole table went uncomfortable.
A male waiter walked up, guffawing at Adrie's beauty. "Um, can I, uh, take your order," he stumbled with his words. Adrie was quick to reply, "Hm, I'm going to have the Walnut Salmon salad with strawberry vinagarette and a coke, please." "Anything for you guys," the waiter asked, gaining composure. "I'll have a burger, fries and a Bud Light." Paul quickly answered. The waiter looked at Nate, "I'll just have a house salad, please," Nate responded. The waiter grabbed everyone's menus and walked away, looking back at Adrie who was wrapped in one of Paul's arms. "So, what are you getting up to today Adriana, my darling," Paul asked. Adrie scrunched her nose, "You know I hate when you use my full name, and I think I'm going to spend the day with Nate." Nate perked up a bit at that, and she flashed a wink in his direction. "Cool, Cool, I uh, have band shit to do anyways," Paul responded, obviously annoyed.
